The following scenarios closely reflect the situation when America On-Line first introduced cheap internet access to the mass.
Because of the influx of 'newbies' on the internet at that time (put that around 1994), and most of the glaring mistakes were invariably traced back to AOL users, the internet community, in particular those who were around since the internet's inception, was understandably very upset at the 'invasion' of clueless bungling idiots who demanded to be heard but don't know what they were on about.
Hopefully by now there is significantly less such incidents, and the newbies have learnt to master the internet and its use.
This article in no way implies that AOL users are bungling idiots (well, hopefully that is not the case!!), but serves to remind us of those early days when many nerves were frayed by people who don't bother reading the FAQs before asking dumb questions, and who don't bother finding out more about things before they set out to do something!
Read on and don't make the same mistakes as this person!!!
